Overview
The client wanted Saven Technologies to build a native iOS application that is fast, handy and easy to use for doctors and administrators while providing the same experience as their website ancestors. The goal was to provide doctors with a great deal of useful options which make their experience more pleasant and create better engagement.
Challenge
Building a native iOS application that looked, felt, and acted like the existing website was a major challenge because existing use cases of the web application does not always align with the mobile development. Another challenge was to build a native dictation tool and seamlessly integrate with the native application that enabled doctors to efficiently manage their dictations from an iPhone or an iPad. Added to that was the user experience ranging from gesture controls to navigation.
Application Features
Dictations
A state-of-the-art dictation tool that is far more superior than the commercially available tools is built into the application that helps doctors record, insert and overwrite the dictations and upload to the servers. This not only removed the dependency on third-party tools to record and upload dictations for a case but seamlessly tied dictations to respective cases.
Image Viewing
Provide a complete integration with an external viewer so that doctors can view and analyze X-rays, CT scans and ultrasounds from an iPad or iPhone.
Payments and Invoices
Doctors can quickly view the payments when they log in to their accounts and upload and send invoices using their mobile devices.
Analytics
Doctors have a graphical representation using bar graphs and pie charts of payments categorized based on the month, year and custom date range, and case counts by the type of service.
Notifications
Mobile push notifications that alert doctors on important case schedules, announcements, awaiting invoices, and new documents published, among others. All the notifications are deep linked to open and view notifications.
Solution
Our strategic solutions and technical services team got together and produced the best solution that not only met but even exceeded the expectations of the client. Most importantly, the design of integrated voice dictation feature was a boon to the client and the doctors as it eliminated the pain and cost involved in the use of third-party recorders. We also added an integrated viewer that helps doctors view images of their cases and make decisions on the transport.
Result
The hard work finally paid off as the client now had a native application that far exceeded their expectations and brought in more customers. Also, we are currently in the process of building a native Android application and a native IOS application for the client.
